how to reach the Colosseum?
By underground
The Colosseum can be easily reached by underground; with line B you get off at the Colosseo stop.
By bus
You can reach the Colosseum with numerous buses: Line 51, Line 75, Line 85, Line 87, Line 117, 118, the night line nMB or tram 3 leave you near the Amphitheater.
By car
It is possible to reach the Colosseum by car although we do not recommend it as the area is very busy. There are paid parking lots near the Colosseum where you can get there via via Fori Imperiali or via Celio Vibenna.
From the airport
If you arrive from Rome Fiumicino airport it is better to take the FL1 railway line to Roma Ostiense and then the metro B to the Colosseo station (tram 3 is an alternative to the metro).
If you land in Rome Ciampino, take the shuttle bus to Rome Termini station and the metro B to the Colosseo stop.
